A roving pansori singer struggles to raise his two adopted children—a boy and a girl—to be master p’ansori musicians. The film is credited with reigniting awareness and pride in the p’ansori tradition of Korean artistic expression through song and performance. Seopyeonje is the first Korean film to record 1 million admissions in Seoul alone and was the winner of over several film awards including an Honorary Golden Bear Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
